Business Analyst

Job description


Under the supervision of the Director of Operational Systems Integrations, the Business Analyst analyzes business processes/requirements and IT issues. His main job is to identify, define, analyze, prioritize and document the needs and requirements of the various departments (operations, accounting, IT and management) and then to propose solutions aimed at improving processes and participate in the development of new systems.   He coordinates the pre-project and planning phases and ensures that all necessary aspects are covered (business needs, target solution, risks, compliance, stakeholders, etc.). It helps to ensure the quality and compliance of a project with business requirements


  • Understand the business context and the impact of projects on the organization's processes.
  • Understand the data architecture of existing systems to ensure optimal migration to new systems.
  • Document business needs and functional specifications, analyze and identify constraints and impacts, and make recommendations.
  • Translate business and functional requirements for the development team.
  • Participate in the software requirements for the implementation of IT solutions according to functional specifications.
  • Validate the solution (piloting activities) and support operations in the acceptance and deployment phase.
  • In concert with functional managers (operations, marketing, accounting, integration, etc.) , identifies business opportunities related to process improvement and monitors technological trends that may contribute to this improvement;
  • Analyze and define solutions to optimize existing processes.
  • Document, model and schematize targeted processes.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of information systems.
  • Perform management and updates of master lists of products and services.
  • Plan, coordinate and carry out user training as required.
  • Coordinate with the information technology department, the supplier, if applicable, and the functional manager, the implementation of change requests and implementations of new versions of applications.
  • Aid application support analysts and specialists during incidents or problems.
  • Participate in the evaluation of external suppliers and participate in the definition of service levels.
  • Performs administrative tasks necessary for good management and any other tasks related to the function.




  • Possess a university degree in information technology, economics, business intelligence or administration or another field deemed relevant.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a business analyst, including relevant experience in data management.
  • Have a solid experience in writing "business cases" and specifications, with a concern for rigor and quality.
  • Possess a good understanding of administrative and operational systems as well as best practices and industry requirements.
  • Knowledge of ERP, CRM and PMS systems is essential.
  • Mastery of the MS Office suite, including Visio.
  • Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written).
  • Understand the Agile project cycle (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and its collaborative tools.
  • Master tools and techniques in business analysis (e.g.: workshops and brainstorming sessions, analysis of processes and business rules, UML modeling, estimation, review).
  • Ability to work in a team and to encourage the collaboration of the various stakeholders involved.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to approach issues from a global business perspective.
  • Autonomy, sense of initiative and organization.
  • Strong sense of customer service; tact and diplomacy.
