Functionalab Group is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing BI team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional to participate in the foundational development and deployment of our BI strategy.

Reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence, the BI Analyst will add value by collaborating with our internal business stakeholders to establish powerful insights and analysis through your Power BI report development.

Responsibilities : 

Build

• Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps that meet the needs of our internal business stakeholders
• Gather and understand business requirements for data visualization and analysis
• Collaborate with our data team to automate the extract, transform and load functions of our data sources to Azure SQL Server
• Write Power M queries to extract and transform data in Power BI
• Write complex DAX functions that support data analysis in Power BI

Maintain

• Maintain and optimize existing Power BI data models and reports
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Power BI reports, and Azure Databases

Drive Business Value:

• Understand key business principles, relating Key Performance Indicators and visualizations to action-based consumption by the report user
• Participate in our collaboration with the Operations, FP&A, Corporate Development and Marketing teams to identify, and report on, key value drivers for the business

Qualifications : 

Our ideal candidate:

• 2 years of experience in a Business Intelligence, or Data Analyst role
• A University degree, diploma or certificate in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field
• Proficiency in reading/writing SQL queries, working within Azure SQL Server
• Experience in Power BI, specifically with DAX, Data Visualizations, Data Storytelling and large data model optimization.
• Familiarity with Star/Snowflake schema data modelling
• Experience working within the Microsoft environment, including Office 365
• You have a positive attitude and are passionate about dataà
• You are attentive to details and care about producing a high-quality work product
• You have good business acumen and analytical skills to formulate conclusions, recommendations and alternatives
• You are organized and able to work on multiple projects, while meeting deadlines
• You have strong communication skills
• You have the ability to work independently and remotely
• Power BI and Power Platform certifications are considered an asset
• Fluency in written and verbal French is considered an asset but not required
