Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment that involves centrifuging a small amount of the patient’s blood to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. The resulting serum is then injected directly into the skin using a micro needling technique. This injection process increases the synthesis and regeneration of collagen and elastic fibres and stimulates the growth of skin cells. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) helps to firm and improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, signs of photoaging, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars.
The face, including the eyelids, neck and décolleté can be treated with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). It is also used on the scalp to treat alopecia and hair loss.

A meeting prior to the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment allows us to better understand your expectations as well as your skin condition and to build a personalized treatment plan.
Pictures taken before the procedure help provide a better view and understanding of the areas affected by the loss of volume and can be used when discussing your goals with the physician. When compared to your “After” pictures, they are an effective way to see the results of the treatment and will be used as a reference over time.
Collecting a small amount of blood is the first step of the treatment. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge to extract the platelet-rich plasma.
Carefully removing all traces of gel, makeup and oil film is an essential step in the microneedling treatment. It is also important to thoroughly disinfect the skin to create an adequate and sterile canvas for the procedure.
Plasma is then injected directly into the skin using the microneedling technique. The session lasts between 30 and 45 minutes in general.
Post-treatment procedures are applied and post-treatment recommendations carefully explained to ensure optimal recovery and results.

Depending on the initial state of the skin and the desired results, we can plan approximately 3 sessions with a 2 or 3-week interval.
It is strongly recommended to combine the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment with filling injections to maximize the rejuvenating effects. The PRP treatment can also be combined with Microneedling RF treatments to improve the firmness of the skin.
Pregnant or nursing women should postpone this type of treatment, as should anyone with an autoimmune disease, blood disorder or active skin infection.

Following a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, you can expect between 12 and 24 hours of redness and a minor edema generally dissipating within a few hours. Makeup can be used on the skin the day following the procedure.
For most patients, results are visible following the first treatment, but full results appear progressively over a few weeks.
The reconstructive benefits of the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment are considered permanent and long-lasting. That being said, this treatment does not stop the internal biological clock and the normal aging of skin. Therefore, an annual or biannual maintenance might be recommended to prevent the effects of time.
