Dermal Fillers Calgary

Dermal fillers are a versatile non-surgical injectable treatment offered at our Dermapure clinics in Calgary. They rely on hyaluronic acid–based products to replace the natural volume that diminishes with age, hydrate the skin from within, refine facial contours and restore overall harmony to the features.

Hyaluronic acid fillers can address volume loss and static lines across multiple areas of the face, including the cheeks, midface, temples, jawline, chin, lips, the contour of the mouth, the under-eye area and the nasolabial folds. The treatment may be received on its own, or scheduled alongside complementary in-clinic options such as neuromodulator injections, biostimulators, skin tightening technologies or medical-grade skincare protocols, depending on individual goals and anatomy.

Because every patient’s facial anatomy, goals and medical history are different, dermal fillers at our Dermapure clinics in Calgary always begin with a personalized consultation with a physician or healthcare professional. Together, you will assess whether dermal fillers are the most appropriate option for you and discuss a realistic treatment plan, the expected results and the possible side effects. What to Expect During Your Session

Step 1
Personalized Assessment
Identifying your injection treatment goals and needs is essential. Several aspects are to be considered, including your age, skin quality and condition, genetics, etc., and would affect the amount of product required for optimal and natural results. During the consultation we will discuss your goals and expectations, and present our expertise in order to offer the best advice based on your priorities and budget.
Step 2
Take Pictures
Pictures taken before the procedure help to get a better view and understanding of the areas affected by the loss of volume and can be used when discussing your goals with the physician. When compared to your “After” pictures, they are an effective way to see the results of the treatment and will be used as reference over time.
Step 3
Apply a Numbing Gel
Applying a lidocaine-based gel to the areas to be treated will numb the skin and make injections more comfortable. While it is not a common practice at other clinics, at Dermapure we never skip this step to make sure your experience is the most enjoyable.
Step 4
Proceed with Injections
Our philosophy is to bring out the natural beauty by restoring balance to the face. Your injection specialist proceeds with the injections of the best hyaluronic acid product available on the market in accordance with the individual morphology of each patient. The product is injected under the skin with a needle or a small cannula, depending on the chosen technique, with the goal to achieve face symmetry, restore natural contours and compensate for the loss of volume. The number of syringes needed will vary based on the surface and depth of the treated areas. Throughout the session, you may use a mirror to follow the procedure and to participate in certain decisions. A typical injection treatment lasts 30 to 60 minutes.
Step 5
Return to Normal Activities
It is possible to return to your normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Localized redness, swelling and bruising may occur, but will subside quickly. No actual downtime is expected. The effects are immediate, with optimum results achieved in the month following the treatment, and normally last for ten to twelve months.

Follow-Up & Maintenance

Touch-ups may be required for optimum results. It is recommended to have annual follow-up procedures to maintain the results. With regular procedures, the frequency and the amount of product needed may diminish over time.

Contraindications

Women who are pregnant or nursing should postpone this procedure.
