Specialty Energy Treatments
Specialty energy treatments bring together approaches that use forms of energy other than conventional lasers, along with specialized laser protocols, to address concerns such as skin firmness, texture, clarity and acne. At Dermapure, each of these treatments is delivered by our trained experts and chosen as part of a plan personalized to your skin and your goals.
Plasma Fibroblast Therapy
Plasma treatments use plasma energy, the ionized fourth state of matter, rather than light or a laser. Delivered just above the skin without direct contact, it creates controlled micro-injuries that prompt the skin to tighten and renew itself.
Plasma
Plasma Fibroblast Therapy is a non-surgical skin-tightening treatment that delivers a precise arc of plasma energy just above the skin. The controlled micro-injuries tighten the surrounding tissue and activate fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen, to firm and smooth the skin over time. It is often used on the eye area and other delicate zones, and involves a recovery period of about 7 to 10 days.
Light-Based Treatments
These treatments use light energy other than lasers, such as infrared light and LED phototherapy, to support the skin without removing its surface, usually with little to no downtime.
Light energy to support the skin
SkinTyte
SkinTyte uses infrared light to gently heat the deep dermal collagen, prompting it to contract and triggering the body's natural remodelling response to firm and tighten the skin. Cooling pulses of air keep the surface comfortable throughout the treatment. It can be used on the face or body, is suitable for a range of skin types and textures, and involves no downtime.
Blue Light Therapy
Blue light therapy is a form of LED phototherapy that uses blue light to target the bacteria associated with acne. It is non-thermal and non-invasive, with little to no downtime, and is generally used as part of a plan to help manage acne-prone skin. It may also be included as a step within facials such as BELA MD and HydraFacial. Your specialist will determine whether it is appropriate for you, and results vary from one person to another.
Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy is a form of LED phototherapy that uses red light to stimulate the skin without heat. Through a process known as photobiomodulation, it supports collagen production to help improve elasticity and the appearance of fine lines, while calming the look of redness and assisting recovery. It may also be included as a step within facials such as BELA MD and HydraFacial. It is non-invasive, with little to no downtime, and results vary from one person to another.
Specialty Laser Treatments
These are targeted laser treatments that address specific concerns using a wavelength chosen for the issue being treated, from skin clarity and oil control to acne.
Lasers for clearer, balanced skin
AviClear
AviClear is a laser approved by Health Canada and the FDA for the treatment of mild to severe acne, without medication. It targets the sebaceous glands with a specific wavelength to reduce sebum production, which helps limit clogged pores and breakouts. Three sessions of about 30 minutes are generally recommended, and the benefits develop progressively over the 6 to 12 months following treatment.
Carbon Laser Peel
The Carbon Laser Peel, also known as the Hollywood Peel, is a non-invasive laser facial for dull, oily or uneven skin. A carbon-based lotion is applied to draw impurities out of the pores, then a laser targets the carbon particles, helping reduce excess oil and the appearance of enlarged pores while refining skin texture. A session takes about 30 minutes, with little to no downtime.
