PicoSure Laser Edmonton Downtown
PicoSure Laser is a picosecond laser treatment that delivers ultra-short bursts of energy into the skin to address pigment-related concerns and support skin renewal. The device can be considered for concerns such as brown spots, sun damage, freckles, pigmented lesions, fine lines and acne scars on the face, and is suitable for a range of skin types.
Because every patient's skin, concerns, goals and medical history are different, PicoSure Laser at our Downtown Edmonton clinic always begins with a personalized consultation. Together with your specialist, you will assess whether PicoSure Laser is the most appropriate option for you and discuss what a realistic treatment plan could look like, the expected results, the recommended number of sessions and the possible side effects, which will be reviewed in detail during your consultation. Follow-Up & Maintenance
To improve the look of your skin and achieve a more youthful appearance by removing pigmented lesions will require only a few treatments. Darker, deeper and larger pigmented lesions may require additional treatments; however during the consultation, your provider will discuss treatment expectations with you. You will see initial results between day 7 and 10 after your PicoSure treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest improvement in the first 4 to 6 weeks.* For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to post-treatment recommendations, but after that you can resume your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, you will be able to put on makeup. Prolong your results by keeping your healthy skin protected with sunscreen daily. *Individual results may vary.
Contraindications
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should delay this type of treatment, as well as anyone who has received Accutane treatment in the past 6 months. Patients who have been exposed to the sun, booth tanning, have used self-tanning products or are taking photo-sensitizing medication will have to delay the treatment.
