Tattoo Removal Edmonton
Laser tattoo removal is a non-invasive laser treatment offered at our Dermapure clinics in Edmonton. The technology delivers short, high-energy light pulses that pass through the skin and break down tattoo pigment into smaller fragments, which are then gradually cleared by the body over the course of several sessions.
Laser tattoo removal can address amateur, professional, cosmetic and certain medical tattoos on most areas of the body, with each session targeting deeper layers of pigment. Several sessions are typically required, spaced over weeks, with the exact number depending on the colour, density and depth of the pigment. Some delicate zones such as eyelid permanent makeup may not be suitable, and the treatment is always evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Because every patient’s skin, concerns and medical history are different, laser tattoo removal at our Dermapure clinics in Edmonton always begins with a personalized consultation. Together with your specialist, you will assess whether laser tattoo removal is the most appropriate option for you and discuss a realistic treatment plan, the expected results, the recovery and the possible side effects. Follow-Up & Maintenance
The number of sessions required for laser tattoo removal varies according to the amount of pigment, its depth and the colors present. Thus, the treatment may generally require between 3 and 8 sessions, sometimes more. Each session is spaced 6-8 weeks apart. It is important to protect the treated area from sun exposure between each session and after the last treatment for a period of two months.
Contraindications
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid this type of treatment, as well as anyone who has received Accutane treatment in the past 6 months. Patients who have been exposed to the sun without sun protection within 4 weeks before the treatment date will not be able to receive it.
