Thermage Kelowna Mission
As early as our 30s, the skin's natural collagen production begins to gradually decline, by roughly 1% per year according to the medical literature. Collagen is the structural protein that keeps skin firm and supported, so as it diminishes, skin can start to look looser and less toned. Thermage is a non‑invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to support the skin's own renewal process and help address these visible signs over time.
Thermage uses patented unipolar radiofrequency technology paired with a cooling system that protects the skin's surface layers, an approach designed to keep the treatment comfortable. The radiofrequency pulses travel through the layers of the skin down to the deeper tissue, gently heating the collagen fibres. This controlled heat causes the fibres to contract and helps trigger the body's natural collagen and elastin renewal process, which is what supports firmer, smoother‑looking skin in the months that follow.
Thermage can be used to help tighten lax skin, soften the look of wrinkles and refine body contours, and may temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite. Many people see results after a single session, though results vary from one person to another. The treatment involves little to no downtime, and any temporary reactions, such as mild redness or swelling in the treated area, will be reviewed with you beforehand.
Because every person's skin, goals and medical history are different, Thermage always begins with a personalized consultation. Together with your specialist, you will assess whether Thermage is the most appropriate option for your skin and your goals, and discuss what a realistic treatment plan could look like, the expected results and the possible side effects.

Cleaning and removing the grid
It is essential to clean the skin to remove the fluid gel used during a Thermage treatment and to completely erase the marking grid.
Hydration
Keeping the skin well hydrated is an important final step in the treatment. Thermage involves little to no downtime, so most people are able to return to their daily routine right away. Any temporary reactions in the treated area, such as mild redness or swelling, are usually short‑lived and will be reviewed with you during your consultation.
Follow-Up & Maintenance
We recommend that you keep your skin in shape with a yearly Thermage treatment regimen. The cumulative effect delivers more consistent benefits over time! Thermage can also be performed every two years, alternating with Ulthera—Thermage is a preventive treatment, while Ulthera is a corrective treatment. We also strongly recommend 4 treatments of Venus Freeze/Venus Legacy every year to help maximize the effects of the radiofrequency therapy throughout the year, thus helping to maintain and prolong results.
Contraindications
Women who are pregnant or nursing should postpone this procedure. Individuals with a cardiac pacemaker or other active medical implant should not undergo Thermage. Daily use of anti-inflammatory medication may reduce the effectiveness of treatment.
