Before beginning any sclerotherapy treatment, an appointment with one of our specialists* is required. This initial meeting will allow them to precisely identify the veins to be treated and to establish a safe and effective treatment plan for long-term results.

*Please note that, as with any medical consultation, fees for this appointment apply.

What to expect during your session

Step 1
Personalized assessment
During your consultation, ultrasound is used to map the veins and discover the source of pressure causing the varicose veins. Often the source of the spider or varicose veins are too deep to see with the naked eye. This consultation stage allows for the development of a safe, accurate and effective treatment plan for lasting results. As with any medical consultation, current fees apply.
Step 2
Pre-treatment photos
Before and after photos are an important step in the treatment process, as it allows for visualization of the evolution of your results over time.
Step 3
Sclerotherapy treatment
Lasting 20 minutes, sclerotherapy treatment may give rise to a slight tingling or a feeling of heat during the session. This sensation disappears quickly after treatment. As the treatment involves injection into the veins, naturally some bruising should be anticipated. Bruising due to any cause on the legs generally resolves over 3 weeks, and patients should refrain from unprotected sun exposure until the bruises clear.

Treatment & Technology

At Dermapure Old Longueuil, the Sclerotherapy treatment is offered to help reduce the appearance of small, visible veins on the skin’s surface. This non-surgical approach involves the injection of a solution into the targeted vein, which leads to its gradual closure and absorption by the body.

Contraindications

Sclerotherapy is contraindicated in pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as a known allergy to the sclerotic agent used.
