With a dermatologist
Offered at your clinic

Private Aesthetic Dermatology Saint-Lambert

A consultation fee applies. Not covered by public health insurance.

This consultation is for a skin concern that may call for a specialist. A dermatologist assesses your skin, hair or nails, establishes what you are dealing with, and determines whether further care is appropriate. No referral is needed.

Some concerns can be assessed and planned around. Others need to be identified first. A change in a mole, a rash that keeps returning, a condition that has not responded to what you have already tried: these are questions of diagnosis, and diagnosis is what a dermatology consultation is for.

The appointment is a specialist assessment. The dermatologist examines your skin, hair or nails, reviews your history and what you have already tried, establishes what you are dealing with, and sets out whether further care is appropriate and what form it would take. Care may involve treatment in clinic, a prescription, or monitoring over time.

What to Expect During Your Session

Step 1
You discuss your concern

You explain what you have noticed, how long it has been present, whether it has changed, and what you have already tried. Your medical history and current medications are also reviewed.

Step 2
Your skin, hair or nails are examined

The dermatologist assesses the area in person to better understand what you are dealing with. If needed, further examination may be recommended to help confirm the diagnosis.

Step 3
The findings are explained to you

The dermatologist explains what the assessment shows in clear language and answers your questions so you understand the condition and what, if anything, may need attention.

Step 4
Your course of care is defined

Based on the assessment, your dermatologist explains the appropriate next steps. This may include treatment in clinic, a prescription, monitoring over time, or reassurance that no further care is needed.

Step 5
Follow-up is planned when needed

Some conditions require ongoing management rather than a single visit. When follow-up is appropriate, the timing and next steps are discussed and planned with you.

After your consultation

What happens next depends on what the assessment found. Some concerns are resolved within the appointment itself. Others are managed over time, with follow-up visits to see how your skin is responding and to adjust the approach.

If a prescription is part of your care, how to use it and what to watch for are explained to you, and the dermatologist remains your point of contact for questions that come up afterwards.

If nothing further is required, that is a result too. Knowing that a lesion does not need action is one of the outcomes this appointment exists to provide.
