Fractional Lasers Toronto
Fractional lasers are skin resurfacing treatments offered at our Dermapure clinics in Toronto, which deliver energy through controlled micro-perforations in the skin to stimulate the natural healing and renewal process. The technologies group into ablative, non-ablative, hybrid and fractional radiofrequency options, each acting at different depths and intensities depending on the concern, the skin type and the targeted area.
Fractional lasers are most often considered by patients who would like to refine surface texture, soften fine lines, address acne scars, stretch marks, sun damage or pigment spots on the face, neck, décolleté or hands. The choice between ablative, non-ablative or hybrid technology depends on the patient's skin type, the targeted concern, the acceptable downtime and the goals of the treatment plan. It may also be planned alongside chemical peels, microneedling or exosome therapy within a broader treatment plan.
Because every patient's skin, goals and medical history are different, fractional lasers at our Dermapure clinics in Toronto always begin with a personalized consultation. Together with your specialist, you will determine which fractional laser technology is best suited for you and discuss what a realistic treatment plan could look like, the expected results and the possible side effects. Applying adapted products
Applying a specific cream immediately after the treatment is not always necessary; each technology requires different follow-up and post-treatment procedures that are carefully explained to the patient by our medical and technical team. These recommendations must be strictly followed to allow the skin to recover properly. Swelling, redness, and sometimes even bleeding can be expected during the first 48 hours; these symptoms decrease significantly in 5 to 10 days. Normal skin flaking/peeling occurs at the end of recovery and it is imperative that you avoid sunlight, makeup and all scented products until your skin has fully healed.
Follow-Up & Maintenance
It normally takes 2 to 5 sessions at a minimum one-month interval to achieve optimal results, depending on the initial condition of your skin. However, it is strongly recommended to maintain the overall health of the epidermis using glycolic peels occasionally, or as part of a course of treatment, based on your technician’s recommendations. Skin treated by fractional laser is not exempt from the natural aging process! Other parts of the body can benefit from Venus Freeze sessions.
Contraindications
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should delay this type of treatment. Some treatments for severe acne – received within the last 6 months – may also be a contraindication.
