PicoSure Kerrisdale
PicoSure is a picosecond laser that delivers ultra-short bursts of energy in trillionths of a second, targeting pigment and stimulating the skin's natural collagen and elastin renewal process. Unlike traditional nanosecond lasers, PicoSure's rapid energy delivery creates a photomechanical effect that breaks down pigment particles with less heat, which may reduce overall downtime. It is used to address a range of concerns including unwanted pigmentation, sun damage, uneven skin tone, fine lines, acne scars and skin texture irregularities.
Because every patient's skin type, concerns and medical history are different, PicoSure Laser at our Dermapure Kerrisdale clinic always begins with a personalized consultation with our team. Together, you will evaluate your skin, discuss your goals, determine the appropriate treatment plan including the number of sessions needed, and review the possible side effects such as temporary redness or mild swelling. Follow-Up & Maintenance
To improve the look of your skin and achieve a more youthful appearance by removing pigmented lesions will require only a few treatments. Darker, deeper and larger pigmented lesions may require additional treatments; however during the consultation, your provider will discuss treatment expectations with you. You will see initial results between day 7 and 10 after your PicoSure treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest improvement in the first 4 to 6 weeks.* For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to post-treatment recommendations, but after that you can resume your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, you will be able to put on makeup. Prolong your results by keeping your healthy skin protected with sunscreen daily. *Individual results may vary.
