Ulthera Kerrisdale
Ulthera is a non-invasive skin tightening and lifting treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy, licensed by Health Canada. During the procedure, ultrasound is delivered through a specialized tip and concentrated at different subcutaneous depths (1.5 mm, 3 mm and 4.5 mm), creating thousands of tiny attachment points beneath the skin's surface that stimulate tissue regeneration and natural collagen production. Ulthera can be used on the full face, including the forehead, brow area and around the mouth, as well as the neck and décolleté, with results typically developing gradually over 6 to 12 months.
Because every patient's skin laxity, goals and medical history are different, Ulthera at our Dermapure Kerrisdale clinic always begins with a personalized consultation with our team. Together, you will assess your level of skin laxity, discuss the areas you would like to address, determine whether Ulthera is the right approach for your concerns and review the possible side effects, such as brief localized redness, occasional swelling or temporary sensitivity. Follow-Up & Maintenance
We recommend that an Ulthera treatment be repeated every two years. In addition to strengthening the subcutaneous anchor points, scientific studies show considerable thickening of the skin in the areas treated with micro-focused ultrasonic energy, thereby reversing the natural thinning of the epidermis associated with aging. Ulthera can be alternated with Thermage—Ulthera is a corrective treatment, while Thermage is a preventive treatment. Also, it is highly recommended to perform 4 treatments of Venus Freeze/Venus Legacy per year to maximize the effects of the radiofrequency therapy throughout the year and thus to continuously stimulate the production of superficial collagen. Once the desired effects are achieved, the results will last so long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
