Dermaplaning South Surrey
Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation treatment that uses a sterile surgical blade to carefully remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the surface of the skin. By revealing the fresh skin underneath, it helps improve skin texture, brightness and the absorption of skincare products.
Because every patient's skin, goals and medical history are different, dermaplaning at our Dermapure South Surrey clinic always begins with a personalized consultation with our team. Together, you will discuss your skin concerns, what to expect during and after the treatment, and any contraindications that may apply.
What to Expect During Your Session
Thorough skin cleansing
Mechanical exfoliation
Application of an exfoliating treatment
Reaction time
Neutralizing the exfoliating treatment
Follow-Up & Maintenance
While the skin is generally brighter immediately after a dermaplaning session, the effects are optimal after a series of treatments at 4-to-6-week intervals. The exfoliation achieved with dermaplaning allows products to better penetrate the skin, which increases their effectiveness making it an ideal option to prepare the skin to receive another treatment. Dermaplaning can be combined with many of the treatments available at Dermapure and is recommended, for example, before a SkinCeuticals Facial or photorejuvenation. Ask your consultant about the ideal combination for your skin.
Contraindications
Patients with active acne outbreaks, extremely oily skin or solar erythema should not receive this treatment.
