    Treatment & Technology

Forehead injections are a non-surgical way to soften facial wrinkles and bring a more rested, refreshed look to your face. Over the years, repeated facial movements like raising your eyebrows or frowning create visible forehead wrinkles and glabellar lines, the vertical creases between the eyebrows. These lines are known as dynamic wrinkles because they’re caused by muscle contractions beneath the skin. When we’re younger, the skin bounces back easily thanks to strong levels of collagen and elastin. But starting around age 25, the body begins to produce about 1% less collagen each year. With time, this natural decline makes it harder for the skin to recover fully after each expression. The result: fine lines become more permanent, even when the face is at rest.

This treatment works by gently calming the muscle activity that causes those lines to deepen. Wrinkle relaxers are precisely injected into targeted areas of the forehead and glabella, allowing the skin to rest and gradually appear smoother. The goal is not to erase every line or block expression. It’s to reduce the intensity of repeated movement in a way that still feels natural. The result is a more relaxed appearance, without looking frozen or overdone. Most people notice visible improvements within a few days, with no need for downtime.

Forehead injections are often combined with treatment in other key areas of the face. Lines around the eyes, known as crow’s feet, or along the sides of the nose, called bunny lines, can also be softened with the same approach. Your injector will take the time to understand your concerns and assess how your facial muscles work together. From there, a personalized plan is created to help refresh your overall look while preserving your natural expressions and facial harmony.

    Treated Areas

Forehead injections target the most common areas where facial lines appear. Horizontal forehead lines are treated to smooth the upper face. Glabellar lines, or frown lines between the eyebrows, are softened to reduce the look of tension. Injections near the brows can also create a subtle lifting effect, helping the eyes appear more open and refreshed.

    Personalized Consultation

Every face is unique, and so is every treatment. Before any injection is performed, you’ll meet with one of our expert medical injectors for a personalized consultation. This includes an in-depth assessment of your facial anatomy, muscle movement, skin quality and overall goals. We take the time to understand what concerns you most, whether it’s forehead wrinkles, frown lines or general facial tension. Your injector will explain how the treatment works, what kind of results to expect and how to achieve a balanced look that respects your features.

    The Procedure

Once your plan is established, the treatment itself is quick and comfortable. A numbing cream may be applied beforehand to reduce sensitivity. Using a very fine needle, your injector will perform a series of small, precise injections into the muscles responsible for forehead and frown lines. The technique is adapted to your facial dynamics to preserve natural movement. The procedure typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Most patients describe only minimal discomfort, similar to a light pinch.

    Back to Your Day

There is little to no downtime after forehead injections. You can return to your usual activities right away. Some redness, swelling or small marks may appear at the injection sites, but these effects are temporary and often fade within a few hours. In some cases, mild bruising may occur and can be easily covered with makeup the next day. To support the best results, we recommend avoiding intense physical activity, alcohol and lying flat for the first few hours after treatment.

    Cost of treatment

The cost of treatment depends on the number of units required and the areas treated. A personalized quote will be provided during your consultation based on your specific needs and goals.

    Follow-up & maintenance

Wrinkle relaxers typically begin to take effect within a few days, with full results visible around two weeks. The forehead looks smoother, more relaxed and naturally refreshed, without freezing facial movement. Results generally last three to six months, and maintenance treatments are recommended to help preserve your results over time.

    Contraindications

Treatment is not recommended for individuals who have active skin infections or inflammation in the forehead area; are pregnant or breastfeeding; have certain medical conditions or allergies (discussed during consultation) and are currently taking blood thinners (must be evaluated by your healthcare provider).

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What are forehead injections?

Forehead injections are wrinkle-relaxing treatments that help soften dynamic lines caused by repeated facial movement. They are most commonly used to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines between the eyebrows.

Are dermal fillers recommended for the forehead?

In most cases, no. Dermal fillers are not typically recommended for the forehead, as this area presents higher risks compared to other regions of the face. The skin is thin and the underlying vascular network is dense, increasing the potential for complications such as bumps, irregularities, a heavy appearance or, in rare cases, vascular events that could lead to localized skin damage or temporary hair loss.

Dermal fillers may be considered in very specific cases, such as marked volume loss, structural depressions or post-trauma irregularities. When used in the forehead, they must be injected with extreme caution, in small quantities, and only by a highly experienced medical injector.

For most patients, wrinkle relaxers remain the safest and most effective option for addressing forehead lines. Dermal fillers are not a routine treatment in this area and should only be used when clearly indicated.

How long do forehead injections last?

Results typically last between three and six months, depending on your metabolism, skin type and lifestyle. Over time, muscle movement gradually returns, and lines may begin to reappear.

    Is the procedure painful?

Most patients find the procedure very tolerable. The sensation is often described as a quick pinch, and a numbing cream can be applied beforehand to increase comfort.

What other treatments are recommended for skin laxity in the forehead area?

To improve skin firmness in the forehead, non-invasive technologies can be an excellent option. Treatments such as Ulthera, fractional CO₂ laser and plasma energy are commonly used to stimulate collagen, improve skin texture and restore tone over time. These treatments may be recommended alone or as part of a personalized plan, depending on your skin quality and overall goals.

    How risky is forehead filler?

As with any injectable treatment, some minor side effects can occur. The most common include temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or small bruises at the injection sites. These usually resolve on their own within a few hours to a few days. In some cases, a mild headache or a feeling of heaviness in the forehead may be noticed, but these effects are temporary. More serious complications are very rare, especially when the procedure is performed by a qualified medical professional. Your injector will review any potential risks with you during the consultation.
