Treatment Goals

Thermage aims to tighten and smooth the skin by stimulating collagen production using radiofrequency energy, thereby improving skin texture and reducing signs of aging.

What You Need to Know

• Although not required, you may take 2 Tylenol 500 mg tablets 30 minutes prior to treatment. *It is the patient’s choice to take any medication prior to treatment.
• You must report any metal implants, including those in the body, face or teeth. Your technician will evaluate them to determine the appropriate treatment plan.
• Some inflammation and redness may be seen immediately after treatment. This effect is temporary and will fade over the next few hours.
• It is normal for your skin to be more sensitive for the first few days after treatment.
• Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately after your treatment.
• Results take 3 to 6 months to develop gradually. A full evaluation of the results is possible 6 months after the treatment day.
• The presence of eyelash extensions, while not a contraindication, increases the risk of infection following a Thermage® Eye treatment. In addition, eyelash extensions may be damaged during treatment due to the required use of eye gel.

What You Need to Do

• Take the suggested medication 30 minutes before the start of treatment. Be sure to mention any medication taken, whether recommended or not.
• Follow appropriate sun protection measures including sunscreen daily after treatment.

What You Need to Avoid

• Applying any products that may cause irritation to the skin prior to the procedure.
• Never stop taking any prescription medication without the consent of your doctor.

• Sun protection is always required, regardless of the treatment chosen.
• Active oral herpes (cold sore) is a contraindication to all facial treatments.
