Clarity Peel

A professional SkinCeuticals peel for breakout-prone, oily skin.

The SkinCeuticals Clarity Peel is a professional, medical-grade peel designed for breakout-prone, oily and congested skin. It combines a gentle peel and exfoliation with targeted SkinCeuticals products to lift away dead surface cells, help unclog pores and support a clearer, smoother and more even-looking complexion.

Because every patient's skin is different, the protocol is tailored during a skin assessment to match your concerns, whether that is excess shine, clogged pores or the look of frequent breakouts. The Clarity Peel works best as part of an ongoing skin care plan and integrates easily alongside other in-clinic treatments. As with any peel, results vary from one person to another, and your skin care professional will help set realistic expectations.

Areas of Interventions

How It Works

Breakouts and congestion develop when excess sebum (the skin's natural oil) mixes with dead surface cells and builds up inside the pore, where it can trap bacteria and lead to inflammation. The Clarity Peel addresses this at the surface: a professional exfoliating peel combined with a gentle mechanical exfoliation clears away dead cells and helps free clogged pores, which encourages faster skin renewal and allows the corrective products applied afterward to penetrate more effectively. The face is the primary treatment area, though the protocol can also be extended to the neck, décolleté or back depending on your needs. A typical session takes about 45 minutes.

What to Expect During Your Session

Step 1
Skin assessment and cleansing

Your treatment begins with a skin assessment to tailor the protocol to your needs, followed by a thorough cleanse with SkinCeuticals Simply Clean to remove makeup, impurities and surface buildup, leaving the skin prepared for exfoliation.

Step 2
Exfoliation

SkinCeuticals Micro Exfoliating Scrub is used to gently polish the skin and remove dull, dead surface cells, helping to improve texture and prepare the skin for the peel.

Step 3
Toning and preparation

SkinCeuticals Equalizing Toner is applied to refresh and rebalance the skin. A protective layer of petroleum jelly is then applied to sensitive areas, and eye protection is placed to ensure comfort throughout the peel.

Step 4
Chemical peel

A professional SkinCeuticals chemical peel is applied and left on the skin for approximately 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your skin type and treatment plan. The peel is then carefully neutralized.

Step 5
Firming masque and personalized skincare

The SkinCeuticals Vitamin C Firming Masque is applied to help revitalize and refresh the complexion. Personalized corrective serums and skincare products are then selected based on your skin's unique needs and concerns.

Step 6
Hydration and sun protection

The treatment finishes with a SkinCeuticals moisturizer, such as RGN-6 Advanced or Epidermal Repair, to comfort and hydrate the skin, followed by a broad-spectrum sunscreen. This is also a good moment to discuss your at-home routine with your skin care professional.

Follow-Up & Maintenance

The Clarity Peel is a maintenance treatment often booked at each change of season. For more visible improvement in texture and congestion, a series of 5 to 6 sessions spaced about two weeks apart can be considered, gradually removing several layers of dead surface cells to refine the complexion. The Clarity Peel can be received on its own or planned alongside other in-clinic treatments such as the HydraFacial or microneedling within a broader skin care plan, and it makes a strong complement to an ongoing acne care routine. Results vary depending on your skin and how consistently you maintain your care.

Contraindications

The Clarity Peel is a superficial, well-tolerated treatment, but it is not suitable for everyone. It is generally not recommended in the presence of an active skin infection or cold sore in the treatment area, a severe inflammatory acne flare, or a recent peel, laser treatment, waxing or sunburn in the same area. It may not be appropriate for those currently taking, or who have recently stopped, oral acne medication such as isotretinoin, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for very reactive skin and a compromised skin barrier (for example, active eczema or a rosacea flare). If you have a known sensitivity to any of the ingredients, let your skin care professional know. Your skin is always assessed before treatment to confirm the protocol is right for you.

Common, temporary effects can include localized redness, mild tingling and light flaking or peeling of the skin, usually within the first 24 hours and resolving on their own. Less frequently, temporary post-inflammatory pigmentation or sensitivity may occur, particularly on deeper skin tones. The skin is also more sensitive to the sun after a peel, so daily sunscreen is essential. Contact your clinic if you notice persistent redness, swelling, or any signs of infection.
