Treatment & Technology

Thinning hair often begins gradually. You might notice your ponytail feels thinner, your part appears wider, or more hair gathers in your brush or shower. Whether it’s due to stress, hormonal changes or the postpartum period, this kind of hair loss can affect how you feel long before it becomes visibly noticeable.

Exosome Hair Therapy is a regenerative treatment that helps restore the scalp’s ability to support fuller, healthier-looking hair over time. At Dermapure Calgary, we use plant-based exosomes. These tiny vesicles, extracted from stem cells, are rich in peptides, growth factors and microRNAs. They work together to support circulation, soothe signs of scalp imbalance and activate weakened follicles.

Every session includes a preparation step to help the scalp absorb the treatment properly. Depending on your needs, this may involve our JetPeel Revive Scalp protocol, a needle-free infusion, or gentle microneedling to stimulate the area. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) may also be recommended to further support follicle activity.

Treatable Areas

Exosome Hair Therapy can be applied to areas of the scalp showing reduced hair density, including the temples, frontal zone, crown, and overall hairline in both men and women. Whether the concern is gradual thinning or more sudden hair loss, treatment targets the zones where scalp health and follicle activity need the most support.

Personalized Evaluation

Your first visit begins with a one-on-one consultation with a medical professional. We take the time to explore your hair history, general health, and potential contributing factors such as stress, hormonal fluctuations, or postpartum-related hair loss. This evaluation helps determine the most appropriate regenerative treatment protocol based on your scalp health and hair density.

Clinical Photography

To track your progress over time, photos of your scalp are taken from different angles before treatment begins. These clinical images serve as a reference to assess changes in thickness, texture, and overall improvement in targeted areas.

Treatment Process

Each session begins with scalp stimulation, designed to gently activate the skin and enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. Depending on your personalized protocol, this step may include targeted microneedling or the use of JetPeel technology. If PRP is part of the plan, a blood draw is performed at the start of the session to isolate the platelet-rich plasma.

When JetPeel is used, it delivers the exosomes directly to the targeted areas using high-pressure microdroplets, without needles. This method allows for precise, comfortable and even application. In protocols involving microneedling, the exosomes are applied topically immediately after the stimulation to support the natural regeneration process. PRP can also be combined with either approach when appropriate.

Return to Daily Activities

Sessions typically last 45 to 60 minutes and are performed in a calm clinical setting. There is minimal downtime. You may experience mild redness or sensitivity in the treated areas, but this usually subsides within a few hours. You’ll be able to return to your regular activities the same day, without interrupting your routine.

Cost of Treatment

Because every case of hair loss is unique, the number of sessions and technologies involved will vary from one person to another. Whether your personalized plan includes PRP therapy, JetPeel, or microneedling, all costs will be reviewed with you during your consultation. Your provider will design a tailored approach based on your goals, scalp health, and hair regeneration needs.

Maintenance Plan

Exosome Hair Therapy delivers results progressively. Most patients benefit from two to six sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, depending on the severity of thinning and the desired outcome. Once the initial results are achieved, occasional maintenance sessions may be recommended to help maintain scalp balance and support long-term hair density.

Contraindications

This treatment is not recommended in cases of active scalp infections, uncontrolled autoimmune conditions, pregnancy, or active cancer. A full medical consultation is required before beginning any protocol to ensure that Exosome Hair Therapy is safe and appropriate for you. In most cases, the therapy is very well tolerated, thanks to the use of plant-based, biocompatible ingredients applied topically and without needles.
