    Taking photographs

Taking a picture of your face before your PicoSure treatment allows you to better visualize the progress before/after the treatment.

Optional application of topical anesthetic for PicoSure treatment

Most patients find the procedure tolerable and require no numbing cream or anesthesia. An optional topical anesthetic can be applied to the skin about 30 minutes prior to treatment by request.

    Cleansing and disinfecting the skin

Carefully removing all traces of gel, makeup and lipid film is an essential step before your PicoSure treatment. It is important to disinfect the skin with alcohol to create a suitable and sterile canvas before the procedure begins.

    Adequate eye protection

Protective eyewear may be required to provide adequate eye protection in the event of light emission. It is normal to see a few flashes of light throughout the treatment. Once well protected, your eyes are safe and have nothing to worry about.

    Treatment

Applying the applicator to the skin of the target area and discharging the energy onto the surface signals the beginning of the treatment. Your provider will treat a section of your face at a time by moving the hand piece to different sections of the target area.

    Application of products

Your expert will recommend the appropriate post-treatment skincare to optimize your results. Patients can apply makeup within 24 hours of the procedure.

    Follow-up and maintenance

To improve the look of your skin and achieve a more youthful appearance by removing pigmented lesions will require only a few treatments. Darker, deeper and larger pigmented lesions may require additional treatments; however during the consultation, your provider will discuss treatment expectations with you.
You will see initial results between day 7 and 10 after your PicoSure treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most patients see the greatest improvement in the first 4 to 6 weeks.*

For the first 24 hours, you should keep your skin protected according to post-treatment recommendations, but after that you can resume your normal activities. After the first 24 hours, you will be able to put on makeup.

Prolong your results by keeping your healthy skin protected with sunscreen daily.

    *Individual results may vary.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is PicoSure laser treatment, and how does it differ from traditional laser treatments for skin issues?

PicoSure is a laser treatment that can rejuvenate and treat many skin concerns. Unlike traditional laser treatments, which use longer pulse durations, PicoSure uses ultra-short energy bursts, minimizing damage to the skin.

What specific skin concerns can PicoSure address, and what areas of the body is it suitable for treating?

PicoSure can treat age spots, sun damage, wrinkles, acne scars, freckles, and pigment lesions. It is suitable for pigment concerns on the face.

Is PicoSure a painful treatment, and what is the typical downtime associated with the procedure?

Since PicoSure uses short energy pulses, there is minimal discomfort. This non-invasive, non-surgical treatment also requires no downtime. You can resume your routine activities immediately after your session.

Can PicoSure be used on all skin types, and are there any potential side effects or risks associated with the treatment?

PicoSure can effectively treat facial pigment and wrinkle concerns for individuals of all skin types. Patients may experience temporary redness and swelling in the treated area, but these side effects subside within a few hours.

How many sessions of PicoSure are generally required to see noticeable results, and how long do the results last?

The number of sessions required depends on the nature of the pigmented lesions. Generally, three to four treatments are recommended. Darker, deeper, and larger pigmentations may require additional treatments, which will be discussed during the consultation. Preliminary results occur after seven to ten days, but the most significant improvements show in the first four to six weeks. Results vary depending on the individual.

PicoSure results are considered long-lasting, but patients may require touch-up treatment every six months to prevent recurring skin pigmentation.
