Microneedling treatment

RF Microneedling Intensive is an innovative technology that combines microneedling and radiofrequency to stimulate skin cells both on the surface and in depth. Using a tip fitted with very fine gold-plated needles, the micro-needle creates microperforations at different depths depending on the treated area – in tenths of a millimeter – in a controlled and precise manner. At the same time, there is an increase in thermogenesis due to the heat emitted by the needles.

This initiates the natural process of skin regeneration and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers, while allowing better permeability of the skin to professional serums used after the treatment.

Requiring no downtime, RF Microneedling Intensive helps reduce wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, and sun damage such as age spots. It also improves skin tone and texture while refining and firming the skin.

The overall effectiveness of the treatment can be observed 4 to 6 weeks or 2 to 3 months after the procedure, depending on the number and intensity of treatments received.

Of course, continuing the treatments on a regular basis increases the results, and alternating with other skin treatments is recommended for optimal and lasting results.

At Dermapure, we use different RF Microneedling platforms, safe and approved by Health Canada, such as EndyMed IntensifMD, Morpheus8, Infinite, Scarlett et Potenza.

    What to expect

Microneedling in Sherbrooke Call | 905.868.8000

A meeting prior to the intensive RF Microneedling treatment allows you to better understand your expectations and your skin condition and thus build a personalized treatment plan.

Taking pre and post-treatment photographs is an important step, as it allows you to visualize the evolution of your skin condition over the course of the treatments. It is also an opportunity for you to better understand the treatment and to visualize the long-term results.

Carefully removing all traces of gel, makeup and lipid film is an essential step in the treatment of RF Microneedling. It is also important to disinfect the skin well in order to create an adequate and sterile canvas for the procedure.

Desensitizing the skin with a numbing gel containing lidocaine will reduce the discomfort experienced during treatment. This product is applied and then left on clean skin for approximately 45 minutes before treatment.

The treatment consists of applying the tip to the skin in order to create, with the needles, the skin microperforations, the depth as well as the intensity of the radiofrequency being determined in advance and managed with precision by the device. The movements of the nozzle are precise and regular at all times. The heat emitted by the radiofrequency is simultaneous with the microneedling and presents minimal discomfort. On some more affected regions, the expert may choose to do a 2nd pass in order to obtain better results. After 45 minutes of topical anesthesia, the actual treatment may take 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

I’ve been going to Dr B for over a year now and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She came highly recommended from many women I know personally. I’ve always trusted Dr B’s judgement and with her professionalism I don’t see how anyone would want to go anywhere else. I’ve also been able to achieve beautiful skin even though I abused it for most of my life. I highly suggest the skincare lines she carries and facials.

    Frequently Asked Questions

RF Microneedling is an innovative procedure that fundamentally works similarly to other microneedling treatments. However, it combines the baseline treatment with the use of radiofrequency to enhance efficacy and overall results. During RF Microneedling , the skin is perforated in tenths of a millimeter by heat-emitting gold-plated microneedles. Simultaneously, radiofrequency waves stimulate surface cells and those below the epidermis to stimulate the body’s healing response appropriately, encouraging collagen and elastin production.

There are various essential steps associated with RF Microneedling . Primarily, we start with a thorough skin cleansing, removing all traces of dirt, lotions, or other substances on the face or body. This ensures the procedure can be conducted on a sterilized canvas. Next, we apply a numbing gel containing lidocaine to reduce potential discomfort during treatment, which is left on for 45 minutes. We then begin the microneedling treatment, applying the tip of the device to the skin in a precise manner, creating microperforations. The depth, measured in tenths of a millimeter, and radiofrequency used are determined prior to treatment and managed effectively by the device itself. These factors depend on the area of treatment and the extent of concerns present, such as wrinkles or sun damage.

RF Microneedling Intensive offers several benefits, including reducing the appearance of skin concerns such as wrinkles, scars, and sun damage, like age spots. It can also improve the look of stretch marks on the body. The treatment ignites skin cells, activating the body’s innate healing response and kickstarting theregeneration process, fosteringcollagen and elastin production. As a result, skin texture and tone can also be noticeably enhanced, firming various areas of lax skin.

The timeline to see results following RF Microneedling will depend on the number and intensity of treatments received. Some patients can notice visible results in four to six weeks, while others may experience optimal results two to three months after initial appointments. Depending on your beauty goals and desired timeline, we recommend discussing treatment frequency and intensity specifics with our experts.

RF Microneedling is distinguished by its minimal recovery period, allowing individuals to resume their daily activities immediately post-treatment without the necessity for an extensive aftercare regimen. However, we do recommend keeping up with your moisturizing routine and applying SPF to the treated area before exposing it to the sun.
