How to remove stretch marks on the thighs?

Stretch marks on the thighs, which look like little white, pink, or purple streaks, can cause concerns or even provoke complexes. Whether they appear during adolescence, after a diet, due to a significant weight gain, or following pregnancy, stretch marks can fortunately be mitigated without having to go under the knife.

Why do they appear?
The appearance of stretch marks on the thighs is due to a rupture of the elastic and collagen fibres found under the skin. Stretch marks generally appear after a rapid growth spurt during adolescence, during pregnancy, or after taking a cortisone treatment. Their appearance can also be exaggerated due to poor circulation in the legs or a lack of skin elasticity.

Fractional resurfacing with the FraxelTM platform
The FraxelTM platform uses a fractional resurfacing laser that helps improve skin texture issues, such as stretch marks. During a treatment, the energy deployed by the laser is split up into multiple beams capable of making – one by one – micro-perforations down into the epidermis. It’s therefore possible to eliminate the old, damaged skin cells of the superficial and deep layers of the skin with precision. Now free of its damaged cells, the skin produces new collagen to build a new skin structure while – at the same time – reducing the appearance of stretch marks. This laser has been wildly successful in reducing mature stretch marks on the thighs and other parts of the body.

Nutricosmetics
You may already know that collagen is a protein that’s naturally present in the body. It helps ensure the hydration, cohesion, elasticity, and regeneration of the skin tissues. Collagen is therefore the glue – so to speak – that holds the tissues together and prevents them from becoming deformed. When the body doesn’t produce enough collagen, the skin gradually stretches out and sags, which may lead to the formation of stretch marks. When these are young and white, it may be useful to take nutricosmetics to support the natural internal production of collagen. Made of hydrolyzed collagen, vitamin C, and amino acids, Functionalab vitamin supplements help precisely support the activity of the fibroblasts, for better skin resistance and elasticity. A “beauty must” to train the skin from the inside!

Stretch marks on the thighs can be mitigated in different ways, particularly thanks to cosmetic medicine, which has acquired technological treatments, and nutritional supplements capable of improving various skin conditions.
